EcoGear Travels – Lake Agnes, Banff National Park

Our friend, Jared Gunderson, took our Pinnacle 65L Hiking Backpack to Lake Agnes and Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada.
Check out Jared’s video of his trip above! This is what Jared recalls from his time at the beautiful national park:
With the smell of Spring in the air, my sister and I took to the trails in Banff National Park. Our destination? The Lake Agnes Tea House for a post-hike snack. The trail was still covered in snow and ice, and the views through the trees revealed a frozen Lake Louise below. The wind was howling as we reached the tea house, making our extra jackets much needed. Small waves rippled underneath the sheet of ice on the lake, while we enjoyed our cups of soup to keep us warm. Even though the temperature at the bottom of the hike was about 80 degrees, the top felt like a different world.

EcoGear Travels – Royal Gorge Trail

Our friend, Jared, explored Royal Gorge Trail in Canon City, Colorado with our Snow Leopard 40L Hiking Backpack. Check out the video above to go along on the journey with him!

Canon City is located about 115 miles south of Denver and is well-known for its beautiful natural scenery. Royal Gorge Trail is the perfect trail for hiking beginners and experts, or just anyone who wants to enjoy a breathtaking view.

With our spacious 40L Snow Leopard backpack, hikers can bring all of their necessities to ensure their hike is one to remember. The main compartment includes a sleeve to hold a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated on-the-go.

Here’s are some of Jared’s memories from his time in Royal Gorge Trail:

Waking up in Red Canyon Park, Utah to a blanket of fresh snow was initially not a welcomed surprise. Laura and I were planning to go rock climbing that morning, but those hopes were immediately dashed as we crawled out of our campsite. However, trying to take advantage of the spring snow, we drove up the highway to the Royal Gorge area. Known for their huge bridge and incredible landscapes, we hiked along the canyon rim through the snow hoping for some good views. We were not disappointed. As the canyon came into view, a train was chugging along next to the river, with the soft snowflakes falling all around. After a short (and cold) stop for a snack, we headed back out to find the elusive sunshine.

EcoGear Roadtrip 2017 – Los Angeles

The roadtrip has, sadly, come to an end. What better place to end this West Coast adventure than in sunny Los Angeles, California? Here are Jared’s thoughts about his time in the City of Stars:

To be completely honest, I wasn’t looking forward to exploring Los Angeles that much. All I hear about is the smog, the traffic, and not to mention the hot weather. But, I came away really enjoying my time there. Pacific Park at Santa Monica was a really cool thing to see, but my favorite thing was walking around the city at night. The warm temperatures made it so nice to enjoy the night life around LA, and the sunset we witnessed was even better. I’ll definitely be heading back down sometime soon.

EcoGear Roadtrip 2017 – San Francisco

Next stop – San Francisco, California! Our first stop in the Golden State was a trip to remember. Here’s what Jared thought about the city by the bay:

I had plans to go to San Francisco in March, but I just never made it out to the Bay Area with all the other places in California I wanted to visit. That’s why I was so excited for this adventure. My first time in The City was absolutely incredible. From the airport we got off the BART and ascended the stairs straight into a local market, greeted by a man playing a trumpet. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to be introduced to this incredible place. With all the things we wanted to do, we didn’t even get to the Golden Gate Bridge until the sun was setting. Nevertheless, San Francisco quickly stole my heart. I already have plans to go back in the new year.
